Safe, affordable, and dependable pasture-focused care for your equine partners.

WELCOME TO THE RANCH

Pasture Boarding Designed for Equine Welfare

Welcome to Round Hill Ranch — your trusted horse boarding stable in Harvard, IL. Located in McHenry County near Rush Creek and Brookdale riding trails. We have been providing pasture-focused care with safe and affordable services for 30 years at this location.

Choosing an established horse boarding facility is about more than a place to keep your horse — it’s about selecting a partner for your horse’s daily wellbeing. Horses thrive outside with clean shelters and automatic waterers. We prevent common issues like behavioral stress and health problems through structured management. We also take the time to slowly introduce horses to new grass in the spring.

Safe & Secure

We use Safe Fence® strapping for horse safety. This low-voltage fencing is highly visible and is routinely inspected to help reduce the risk of injuries that may require veterinary care. Our round pen is equipped with safety panel caps to help prevent injuries. Most of our pastures feature rounded corners, allowing horses to move away from other horses more safely.

Detailed Amenities Snapshot

Our team focuses on transparent communication, health updates, and encouraging owner involvement alongside our reliable daily care. For $325 we feed grain once per day using the grain and supplements you provide. Horses have salt blocks and access to high-quality covered grass hay 24/7 year-round with grass in season. Deworming with rotation is performed four times a year at our expense unless otherwise directed by the owner. We can pull and handle your horses for the veterinarian or farrier if you are unavailable for a fee of $20-40 per horse depending on the time involved and the type of job. Conditions are checked daily. Automatic waterers are available in every paddock. A stall is available if your horse is recovering or requires medical care. There is no charge for stall use, however, because we have a limited number of stalls, they are reserved exclusively for horses with medical needs, illness, or those recovering from an injury or procedure. While stall cleaning is not included, staff assistance can be arranged for an additional service fee. An equine dentist visits our facility in the spring and fall each year, and owners may sign up if they wish. You are also welcome to bring your own veterinarian and farrier, or you may use the professionals we work with.
